I’ve been in St. Cloud Minnesota all week on a business trip. I’ve been taking a class on programming our CNC machine a at work. It’s been a lot of work, and a lot of weird. The things to do are limited to a few miles of stores.
First off, the Toys ‘r Us hasn’t been renovated since the 90’s. Which is freaking neat, but kind of weird. It even has the same old lighting. The manager told me that when they get layout plans, they’re for new stores and he can use them. That’s crazy. That’s just crazy.
I discovered a store called Shopko. It was like Target, but they liked brown better than red. Also, they had name brand stuff and two she departments. One was a official Payless Shoes. The other was the Shopko show department that sold stuff like Adidas and Sketchers.
I had saw a commercial for a place called Menards and checked it out. It was basically Lowes with a small grocery section. Hehehehehe Menards.
The mall was enclosed with Target as an anchor store. It was a small mall, but had a neat vintage gaming store. I talked shop with the guy for a bit and played with some retron units.
While I’ve been here, I saw the Optimus evolutions two pack and the new Jetfire, but passed since those are big boxes to take on a plane. I did grab the new Legends Cliffjumper and Nemesis Prime. Also got the Jason and Ghost Face ReAction figures. Of note, at Shopko, they had a big game clearance and I got Zombie U and Assassins Creed part bro for a total of $16 new. There was a few other games. But I either already had them or had no interest. I only got Assassins Creed part whatever because it was $3. No shit, I bought a brand new game for $3.
The food here is good. I’ve eaten a lot at the hotel and the school orders lunch daily from the local restaurants. I’ve also eaten a bunch of White Castle. They’re not in Georgia, and I’m a Krystal’s guy. But hey, I don’t get it often.
Speaking of hotel, I’ve got a big as suite. I’ve lived in smaller places. It’s insanely nice. Speaking of nice, I’ve been flying first class. Wow, expedited TSA.
I go back tomorrow evening after my last class. It’s going to be good to be home, but man, I got to run all over the place tomorrow to get to my plane in time.
